While tending the flocks of his father-in-law, Moses saw an amazing thing, a bush on fire but not being burned up. When Moses came closer to see this incredible sight God spoke to him from the flame, calling his name. God told him to come no closer but to take off his shoes because he was standing on holy ground. Moses obeyed and then covered his face because he was afraid of God. God sent Moses on a mission. Moses was to go to Egypt. He was to lead the Hebrew people out of slavery there and into the land God promised to Abraham’s descendants.
