Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by a prophet of God named John.
John recognized Jesus as the Son of God and wanted Jesus to baptize him instead.
Jesus said no, the right way was for John to do the baptism.
Just as Jesus came out of the water the Spirit of God in the shape of a dove came down on him. A voice from heaven said “This is my Son, my Beloved; with him I am well pleased”
In addition to the water and the dove there is an olive branch in the window. Olive
branches are symbols of peace. One of Jesus titles is Prince of Peace.
