Who We Are
First Presbyterian Church of Muskegon is a congregation that seeks to follow the way of Jesus Christ. We believe Christ welcomes all of us just as we are and invites us to grow in love.
We seek to be a place to worship, a place to belong and a place to serve. We strive to be open-minded and welcome new experiences and ideas.
Worship and mission are at the core of our ministry. Our congregation has many talented, resourceful individuals with an active passion for local and global social issues.
Because we are the only Presbyterian Church in the county, we draw from both urban and rural areas. This diversity leads to programs and teaching which reflect our desire to be relevant to all who come through our doors.
Our programs and organizations include a Deacon ministry, women’s circles, men’s breakfasts, an art ministry, and prayer shawl ministry, just to name a few. We offer many opportunities for musical participation. Our Faith Development Council provides a book group, various study classes, a youth group, VBS and more.
We are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). PC(USA)
Mission Statement
“First Presbyterian Church of Muskegon’s mission is to nourish minds, bodies and spirits, crossing boundaries and devoting ourselves to serve in the name and the spirit of Jesus Christ. Rooted deeply enough to risk being reshaped, we will have the courage to continually explore new ways to move in the direction God calls us.”
